I'm a proud Ohioan, which gets me into trouble in my new home of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Although my love of the Columbus Blue Jackets, Jeni's Ice Cream, and a walk across Otterbein University's campus with Java Central in hand will never fade, moving to a place where I knew nobody and knew nothing is perhaps the best thing I have ever done for myself.
I'm a proud member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity - being a member has literally and figuratively changed my life's path numerous times. I love my job, where I get to work with college students every day and help them find the value of fraternity/sorority and their true leadership potential.
I can't stop listening to Kasey Gelsomino's Spotify Playlist, "oat milk lattes in the mountains". Deer are my favorite animal, besides my family dogs, Izzie and Buddy. Orange has always been my favorite color, although, as you can tell, green is a close second. Soup is my favorite food, and I won't be answering any questions at this time.
If you're anything like me, you have spent years trying to solve personal and professional challenges by addressing your shortcomings, the areas in which you feel the least confident, hoping that you'll find an answer, hoping that you'll find your place. Our society has provided us with many perspectives and unwritten rules, and we owe it to ourselves to unlearn them. We spend years learning that to be our best selves, we have to "fix what is wrong with us." I became impassioned, As an educator, coach, and speaker, I believe that the best way for us to combat the deficit perspective of self that society provides is to utilize an asset-minded personal development approach and to introduce this approach as early as possible.
I spend my work day with college students, specifically those in high-stress leadership positions. I intentionally utilize a strengths-based advising style with my students, and I ensure that I provide the same level of care in coaching conversations with clients. My strong facilitation skills prepare me to lead strengths-based leadership development opportunities for individuals, managers, and teams. I have years of experience developing curriculum that ranges from one-hour speaking engagements to seven-week courses, and I am happy to tailor my services to whatever you or your team need in order to most effectively move mindsets.
